Multideck chiller repairs: what goes wrong
A multideck chiller keeps product cold with a curtain of cold air blown down the open front and drawn back through a grille at the bottom. Behind the back panel sits an evaporator with several fans, and either a built in condensing unit at the top or bottom or pipework to a remote unit outside. The air curtain is easily upset: a failed fan, a blocked return grille, product stacked past the load line or a draught from a door all let warm air in.
