Commercial upright fridge repairs: what goes wrong
Commercial upright cabinets use a top or bottom mounted condensing unit, a fan assisted evaporator and an electronic controller running the defrost cycle. They are built for constant use, but in a Harare kitchen with intermittent power and high ambient temperatures they fail in predictable ways: controllers and probes damaged by surges, evaporator fans and defrost heaters worn out, condensers blocked with grease, and compressors that have run hot for too long.
